DOMODOSSOLA
A plunge into the charms of an absolutely beautiful historic centre: the journey of discovery into the history of Ossola can only start from its Domus Oxila. Welcome to Domodossola! Domodossola, at the centre of seven Alpine valleys, is the fulcrum of a borderland, a crossroads of trade and culture, the heart of the most authentic Ossola.
SACRO MONTE CALVARIO
The Sacro Monte Calvario of Domodossola is one of the most important religious, historical and environmental sites in Piedmont. Included since 2003 in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Alpine Sacred Mounts, it represents a complex of great cultural interest, as well as a place of peace, prayer and meditation.
VIGEZZINA-CENTOVALLI RAILWAY
The Vigezzina-Centovalli railway line, today one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Ossola Valley, carrying hundreds of thousands of passengers every year, was born in the early 20th century thanks to Italian-Swiss initiatives. The official inauguration of the line took place on 25 November 1923.
What to do…
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel only read one page of it” (Sant’Agostino d’Ippona)
DOMOBIANCA 365
A true winter sports paradise just a stone's throw from the town of Domodossola, Domobianca 365 can be reached by car in just fifteen minutes from the Ossola capital. Thanks to the panoramic and barycentric position of Alpe Lusentino and Moncucco, right in the heart of the Val d'Ossola plain, Domobianca 365 offers spectacular views, with the gaze sweeping from Switzerland to Monte Rosa.
ÓNIRO – BOGNANCO SPA
Discovered in 1863 by a shepherdess intrigued by the strong ferruginous taste of its water, the Bognanco spring was initially purchased by the village parish priest, who then set up a company to market the water. It was precisely the water of Bognanco that was the first in Italy, from 1928, to be bottled using a fully automated process.
PREMIA SPA
PremiaTerme, in the Antigorio Valley, the most modern and popular thermal centre in the Upper Piedmont region, is a true paradise of wellbeing for everyone, thanks to its rich and varied offer and its moderate altitude. The spa, with an architectural style that blends perfectly into the mountain environment, can count on the waters of an ancient spring.
