THE RESIDENCE
Residence Briona offers recently refurbished studio, two/three rooms apartments perfectly equipped.
OUR STORY
The Briona Residence is located in a structure built in the 12th century by the De Rodis family, feudal lords of the Antigorio-Formazza Valley.
The family drew its wealth from tolls paid for the passage of materials along the ‘Via del Sale’, which connected Switzerland (Gries) with Liguria and France, in exchange for protection along the impassable mountain transit.
The Magrì family, owners for three generations, has been working on the restoration of the structure for years, paying particular care and attention to the recovery of the floors, beams and wooden ceilings and stone walls.
Thanks to this work, a stone portal with original threshold and hinges has come to light, allowing the building to be correctly dated.
